GatorWell First Year Florida
GatorWell First Year Florida seeks to provide personal development in the areas of health and wellness, diversity, ethical behavior, teamwork, and community service. The course will focus on application aiming to support creating a healthy identity and developing emotional and social competencies.
This course will provide:
- An understanding of how health impacts academic performance.
- Overview of the services most essential to student satisfaction and success.
- Mentoring opportunities between students, instructor, and peer leader.
- An atmosphere in which students support each other.
Students living at Jennings or Springs are encouraged to register for a section of First Year Florida (SLS 1102) designed specifically for GatorWell. These sections meet at the Springs and Jennings Halls.

Become a GatorWell Peer Leader
GatorWell Peer Leaders serve a vital function as co-instructors for the course. Peer Leaders serve as role models for new freshmen while gaining valuable communication, interpersonal, conflict management, and presentation skills. The process of becoming a Peer Leader is coordinated by the Dean of Students Office.
