Medical Services
When students enter UF, they are automatically assigned to a medical "Team". The SHCC has 6 internal teams composed of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other support staff, and they operate much like a small doctor's office. This enables each patient to return to the same group of providers for continuity of care. (Patients may switch to another team, if they wish.)
The first time a student visits or calls for an appointment, he or she learns about this automatic team assignment. From then on, the patient can call the team directly to schedule appointments. Familiar faces and backup medical personnel are a bonus of this system! Feel free to call the SHCC at 392-1161 if you are not sure which is your Team.
