General Medical Care

The Student Health Care Center provides a wide variety of general health and wellness services to help keep students at their best, and our providers strive to help students understand common ailments while also providing treatment options. Learn about all available SHCC services.

Students are assigned a primary care medical team upon entering UF. Operating much like a small doctor’s office, this system enables patients to return to the same group of providers for continuity of care. Familiar faces are a bonus of this system!

With the exception of urgent illness/injury care during regular business hours, CALL FIRST to be seen: (352) 392-1161.

  • In general, students seeking care from a medical provider (MD, PA, or APRN) will be provided with the next available appointment time.
  • Students who feel their concern is urgent may ask to speak to a nurse for same-day advice.

If you want to request changing primary care providers, please notify someone on your assigned team or email the request to www.shcc.ufl.edu using the online comment card.
