Women’s health services are available at the Student Health Care Center’s main campus facility in the Women’s Health Clinic, as well as through your primary care medical team. The Women’s Health Clinic, comprised of women’s health specialists, is nurse practitioner run with a female health focus.

Please complete each of the following prior to your first visit with the Women’s Health Clinic or your first gynecological exam. NOTE: Patients scheduling a routine pelvic exam will be asked to fill out the Women’s Health History Form (PDF) before their appointment.

Available services
- Counseling on contraceptive options, sexually transmitted disease/infection (STD/STI) prevention, sexuality and other women’s health issues (Visit our Sexual Health area for more information on these topics.)
- Screening, diagnosis and treatment of STDs/STIs and vaginitis; same-day appointments are usually available for women experiencing symptoms (NOTE: Routine testing may also be arranged.)
- Breast exams and instruction in self-examination
- Pap smears and routine pelvic exams (NOTE: SurePath™, a liquid-based method, is the only pap smear method used at the SHCC. SurePath™ has the advantage that it can be checked with a DNA methodology for presence of viruses like HPV. SurePath™ can reveal more information, and the same specimen can be tested further if initial indications reveal abnormalities, saving the woman time and a return visit for another test.)
- Abnormal pap follow-up, colposcopy, cryosurgery and LEEP
- Pregnancy testing and referrals for optional services
Consultant gynecologists are available for specific referrals such as abnormal pap follow-up, colposcopy, cryosurgery and LEEP.
