All areas of the SHCC will be closed for upcoming University holidays and have reduced hours during winter break. SHCC@Shands will be closed Dec. 8, 2016 through Jan. 4, 2017 for renovations.

SG has worked and will continue to work closely with GatorWell, the Counseling and Wellness Center, the Disability Resource Center, U Matter, We Care and the Student Health Care Center and strive to make these great health-related programs on our campus the best for The Gator Nation.

Ponchos are also available at the front desk of the SHCC's main campus location: the Infirmary Building at 280 Fletcher Drive.

Most staph skin infections are minor and may be easily treated. Contact your healthcare provider should you notice any symptoms.

The center offers free hand sanitizer, which may help in keeping you germ free, and [Catherine Seemann, SHCC Communications Coordinator] recommends speaking with a health care provider if symptoms are spotted.

Next to regular self-examinations, preventing sunburns is a critical way to avoid skin cancer.
