Community & National Resources

The Gainesville community provides a wide range of mental health services at low or no cost to students who qualify for their services. Some of the community agencies are: Meridian, the Alachua County Crisis Center, and NAMI.

Meridian Behavioral Healthcare offers individual therapy and psychiatry medication management to individuals without insurance coverage, or no to low-income individuals. Meridian offers a sliding scale for all of their services.

The Alachua County Crisis Center

The Alachua Country Crisis Center offers 24 hours crisis assistance, and free individual counselling services. To schedule an appointment, please call the Alachua Country Crisis Center directly and they will be able to schedule you for an intake appointment.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for and providing free community services to individuals with mental health concerns and their loved ones. Each branch of NAMI operates a little differently. NAMI offers multiple educational courses, support groups, awareness presentations, and a peer mentor program.
