Jeremy grew up in Delaware, Ohio, which is a small farm town just north of Columbus. In 2002, he received a BS degree in Biology and worked in cancer research. He then transitioned to the clinical environment as a hospital based EMT at the Scripps Mercy Hospital Emergency Department in San Diego, California. Jeremy then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he lived and worked for six years. In 2011, Jeremy and his wife moved to Gainesville to be closer to the beach and his wife’s family. He began working for Shands Hospital shortly after moving here and held many positions including a nurse in the cardiac ICU, a psychiatric nurse in the medsurg/psych unit (unit 52) in the north tower of Shands, and psychiatric nurse at Shands Vista Psychiatric Hospital before transitioning to SHCC Psychiatry. Jeremy currently lives in Gainesville with his wife and 3 children and enjoys motorsports, kayaking, and mountain biking.
Katherine was born and raised in the Tampa area and in addition to Gainesville, has lived in Ohio and Chicago. Katherine graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida in 2011. She then received her Masters of Arts in English from Loyola University of Chicago in 2013, before obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida in 2020.
Katherine most recently worked on the UF Health Shands Burn ICU where she provided invaluable care to individuals with significant physical and mental health needs. Katherine is a wonderful communicator and has previous experience as a lead in customer support and communication while working as an ophthalmology service coordinator at UF Veterinary Hospital. During her time with UF, Katherine has received both a UF Superior Accomplishment Aware in 2018 and an Alumni Book Award through the UF College of Nursing in 2019.
